Oh, gag me.

Yahoo News thinks we needed to know this (emphasis mine, natch):

When it comes to gifts, it's not the thought that counts. At least not in America's wealthiest households.

Two-thirds of affluent American women want gift cards. But less than a fifth of men will give it to them, according to a report from American Express Publishing and the Harrison Group out Thursday. Instead, 70% of women are gifted clothing or jewelry.

A survey of 625 households that represent the top 10% of the nation's wage earners found a wide gap between what people want and what they will actually get.

What'd ya wanna bet that if 625 households in the bottom 10% were surveyed, the answers would be a little different? Maybe they would want heat to keep them warm, enough food every day, maybe they'd really stretch and hope for a day off from work now and then, from one of their many jobs? Oh, wait, no, they are probably really selfish and hoping for a JOB.

Man, I hate this fucking society.

I couldn't agree with you more. No really, seriously, I couldn't, I mean, literally.

(Totally unrelated - I'm listening to Unbunny's Moon Food as read and respond)
